The title comes from Sergei Yesenin's last poem before comiting suicide. Using Virginia Woolf's last letters as a base, this film is meditation on the power of the word and its undertsanding and the the last moments before saying "goodbye".

Elderly author Guzmán is tasked with taking care of his teenage grandson David for a few days while his mother is out of town. The two are virtual strangers, having met only a few times during the boy's whole life, as a consequence of a deep rift between the cantankerous old man and David's mother.
